The COVID-19 Long Haulers presentation is intended to define "Long Haulers" as well as discuss symptom identification, screening and clinical treatments for patients who are experiencing long term effects of COVID-19. This session will identify criteria for a Long Haulers diagnosis, review evaluation and assessment components for therapy and nursing, and discuss treatment methodologies based on symptom identification. We will also cover sequelae and symptom management, safe rehab and self-management in order to holistically treat the COVID-19 Long Hauler. Our discussion will also include the presentation and effect of Post Exertional Malaise and Post Exertional Neuroimmune Exhaustion as well as the increasing neurologically related complications resulting from COVID-19. We will also discuss collaborative efforts among therapy, nursing and clinical counseling as well as standardized testing used to objectify improvements and progression in vital areas such as quality of life, motivation and depression. A Clinical Counselor will explain the possible causes, symptoms and manifestations of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Post Intensive Care Syndrome and how these diagnoses may impact the treatment plan for a patient with COVID-19 Long Haulers. We will also discuss one trial clinical treatment of Full Spectrum Light Therapy used across disciplines for varying treatment approaches and goal attainment.
